Is there plants i shouldn't use to decorate my California king snake's cage?

I'm assembling a pretty nice habitat for a king snake i adopted, i went and bought some regular ivy plants at home depot, hopefully so they can grow and decorate his big cage i built. My question is, will this harm him? Is there any household plants i should stay away from? Thank you for your time. - rick
