Does anyone know of a bug that marks you and follows you?

When I was a kid, I heard of a bug from the rainforest or someplace exotic that would spray/mark you if you disturbed it. Then all of the other members of the species would identify the scent and attack you even if you returned to their habitat years later. Does anyone know of this, or did I pick it up in a fiction book
